Project Summary
The project will include installing a discharge structure to both pond areas and connect to an existing drainage infrastructure system. The proposed plan will construct approximately 149 LF of 15”-18” new cross drain system that includes five new drainage structures and driveway reconstruction with milling and resurfacing pavement.
Community Benefit
This project is part of the Drainage Improvements Program, under the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The objective of the project is to eliminate chronic roadway flooding on the northeast and southeast portions of the intersection at Casey Road and Lowell Road. The proposed improvements will reduce the risk of future flooding, mitigate future damage to residential properties, and support long-term recovery by addressing a disaster-related impact to public infrastructure, consistent with HUD CDBG-DR requirements. Additionally, this project is going to upgrade stormwater infrastructure and provide water quality improvements through filtering pollutants from stormwater runoff. This project will be carried out under the Infrastructure Program to address (1) known infrastructure deficiencies, (2) provide mitigation and resilience measures to better protect infrastructure from increased frequency and severity of storm events, and (3) align with the County’s long-term recovery and resiliency strategy.
