Project Summary
This channel restoration project will address the needs and concerns of the residents of the Northdale community that flooded severely during Hurricane Milton. The proposed restoration activities will include but are not limited to clearing and de-snagging 9,816 LF which will remove excess vegetation, debris, and potentially sediment from the creek.
Community Benefit
The restoration activities will provide improvements to the flow of Brushy Creek and alleviate chronic flooding in the surrounding community. This project will be carried out under the Infrastructure Program to address (1) known infrastructure deficiencies, (2) provide mitigation and resilience measures to better protect infrastructure from increased frequency and severity of storm events, and (3) align with the County’s long-term recovery and resiliency strategy.
