Multi-Family Housing

Hillsborough County has allocated $60 million in CDBG-DR funding for affordable multi-family rehabilitation and development.

Funds will be awarded to eligible applicants through a competitive Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), expected to be available in June 2026. Check back for stakeholder engagement dates and NOFA release information.

Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO)

Community-Based Development Organizations (CBDO)

Public Housing Authorities (PHA)

Units of General Local Government (UGLG)

Not-for-Profit Organizations (NPO) or For-Profit Entities

Private multi-family property owners

Eligible Activities

Funds under the County’s Multi-Family Housing Program will be available for gap financing for the following activities:

Multi-Family Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation of existing multi-family housing damaged by Hurricanes Helene and/or Milton.

Demolition & Reconstruction

Demolition and reconstruction of multi-family housing damaged by Hurricanes Helene and/or Milton.

Affordable Housing Development

Development of new long-term affordable multi-family housing.

Process and Timeline

The County will release a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) inviting eligible applicants to apply for funds under the Multi-Family Housing program. Applications are expected to open in June 2026.
