Summary
The Lift Station Resiliency projects consist of the planning, design, and construction of resiliency improvements to wastewater lift stations located within flood-prone and low-to-moderate income areas throughout Hillsborough County. Lift stations are critical components of the wastewater collection system that pump sewage to treatment facilities when gravity flow alone is insufficient. Project activities will include resiliency measures designed to maintain wastewater collection and conveyance services during flooding and power outages.
Community Benefit
The Lift Station Resiliency projects will help maintain reliable wastewater service during flooding and power outages by strengthening critical components of the County's sewer system. By reducing the risk of sanitary sewer overflows, service disruptions, and environmental contamination, the projects will help protect local waterways, support public health, and minimize disruptions for residents and businesses during severe weather events. These improvements provide greater continuity of essential wastewater services when communities need them most.
