Summary

The Stormwater Drainage Improvement projects consist of targeted improvements to drainage and stormwater infrastructure across Hillsborough County to address flooding, improve stormwater management, and strengthen the performance of the County's drainage system. Project activities may include installation of new storm sewer systems, drainage structures, storage facilities, ditches, and other associated restoration activities. These improvements are designed to increase drainage capacity, improve the movement and storage of stormwater, and address infrastructure deficiencies identified following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Community Benefit

The Stormwater Drainage Improvement projects will improve the County's ability to collect, store, and manage stormwater in areas affected by recurring drainage challenges during heavy rainfall and storm events. By increasing drainage capacity and improving the movement of stormwater, these projects will help reduce the depth and duration of flooding, improve access along neighborhood roads, and lessen the impacts of heavy rainfall on nearby properties. In addition to reducing flood-related disruptions, these improvements will support better water quality and create more reliable drainage conditions for Hillsborough County residents and businesses.
